چکیده

Bihar hairy caterpillar (Spilosoma obliqua) is a sporadic, polyphagous and voracious foliage feeder attacking several host species of different families. Its impact more pronounced in certain Cruciferae family, notably cabbage. The goal the current study was to identify methods for pest control that are efficient, economical, sustainable order combat infestation on research conducted measure efficacy eight plant extracts Entomology laboratory, Lamjung Campus at room temperature from March April, 2019. There were treatments viz. Asuro (Justicia adhatoda), Bakaino (Melia azedarach), Ban fada (Lantana camara), Bojho (Acorus calamus), Kaligadi (Solanum nigrum), Neem (Azadirachta indica), Titepati (Artemisia vulgaris) Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) experiment. Pure cultured insects tested against treated leaf with four replications each treatment placed Complete Randomized Design (CRD). Antifeedant effect mortality tests performed 24 hours 15 days respectively. results indicated all materials posses some sort antifeedant insect. statistical analysis revealed both (87.85%) (100%) maximum bakaino followed by neem. result demonstrates great potentiality utilizing pest, suggests incorporation botanical would be future alternative management.

Timely plant defenses protect against caterpillar herbivory.

A s sessile, photosynthetic organisms, plants benefit greatly from a circadian clock that adjusts their overall metabolism in anticipation of the highly predictable arrival of sunrise and sunset. Thus, it is not surprising that about one-third of all plant genes show evidence of circadian regulation in their expression patterns (1, 2). However, closer examination of this diurnally regulated tra...

Efficacy of oxamyl against Heterodera schachtii on cabbage.

The efficacy of oxamyl in controlling Heterodera schachtii on cabbage was determined by applying various contbinations of soil drenches at 6.7 kg (a.i.)/ha and foliar sprays at 0.04 kg (a.i.)/100 liters of water to cabbage seedlings. Pretransplant drenches provided some control of H. schachtii over a 13-week period. A single foliar spray of oxamyl 1 week before transplanting apparently prevente...
